A Return to January 2013- New York

We are completing our mission Blog so we can enjoy the memories in a book.  It has been about 2 ½ years since we returned from our mission.  Our goal with these last entries is to document the last three months of our mission and to share some of the experiences that have not been included but were significant in building our testimonies as we served as Area Welfare Specialist for the Europe area.

January 2013
My mother had not seen me for almost 2 years and she felt it necessary to see me.  So my sister and I arranged to meet in New York for a long weekend.  Mother and Vickie flew into New York on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.  I flew in on Thursday the 17th due to problems with my flight, as John has already explained.  We stayed at the Marriott Essex hotel which was right off of Central Park.  We had a wonderful reunion.  We took a carriage ride in the Park, shopped,  enjoyed a day in the Manhattan Temple together, which was such a special treat.  We went to see the show “Wicked”.  We walked around Time Square. We enjoyed eating out and just visiting and being together.  On Sunday the 20th, I flew back to Frankfurt, arriving on the morning of the 21st.  I freshened up and went to the office for the day.  I appreciate President Teichert so much for allowing me to go.
